International Human Rights Network is a non-governmental organisation supporting others in applying Human Rights Based Approaches in their work since 1996.

Support is provided to states, inter-governmental organisations such as UN agencies and regional organisations, NGOs and other civil society organisations.

IHRN experts work in a range of interrelated contexts, such as the following:

What we do

IHRN creates, applies and learns from, Human Rights Based Approaches through these types of activity:

Own-initiative projects: proposed by Network experts

Learning: such as training, research and consultation

*international conference on justice evaluation 2009
*organisational learning with the Danish Institute for Human Rights 2009

Consultancy: providing multi-disciplinary teams to support all stages of the management cycle from problem analysis through to evaluation.

*services to EC in multi-year framework Lot 7 2009-2013

Advocacy: acting as an advocate of human rights change, independently and in coalition with others.

Pro bono: supporting other not-for-profit organisations which share the Network’s core principles, including mentoring young human rights advocates in developing countries.

Distilled from its experience and its policy positions the Network applies a number of core principles.
